I met my Daddy when I was 5 years old. He taught me how to tie my shoes recite the alphabets how to cook and clean. My Daddy taught me how to remain strong to matter how hard life seems to have gotten. He drilled in my head over the many years "Trust no one, no matter how so pleasant". We agreed on a lot of things and disagreed too. But one thing I can always say is my Daddy put it in my mind there's nothing in this world I couldn't have or do. He was a good Husband, Father and Grandfather. He never once refered to my brother (Curtis)and I as his stepchildren we were always and will always be known as Alonzo Truett's children. Even though a lot of people may not have liked which way he decided to go with his life one thing was for sure Daddy loved and cared for his family without reservations. He taught Alonzo Jr., Francine, myself, Curtis and Margarett the importance of family and how, when there was no one else around to help you out you could always rely on family. And for me my sisters and brothers our family was our Dad and our Moms. Daddy believed in punishments to the fullest when it came to Whitney, Justin, Joshua, Tiffani, Curtis Jr., Christopher, Zaria and AJ(Alonzo James)his grandchildren he believed in sharing and dividing punishments. Daddy honored good behavior all the time no matter where you were. When Daddy opened his mouth you listened and if you didn't you better duck becasue he was surely coming after you (smile). Daddy was an excellent provider and I grew up thinking we had the world at our feets, because that's how he and my Mom made it feel. Nevertheless as I got older and had my own family I soon realized nothing came for free and that was another important lesson I learned through Daddy and Mama. Daddy was the hardest working man I'd ever known and his hard work proved in order to get the things you want in life you have to get a good education, finish school learn all you can from everyone that's heading in a positive direction, work hard and to always make sure you have your own, no matter what it is. To my Daddy I will always carry your soul deep within mine and I will never ever let what you taught me be distroyed or taken away. I'll make sure Justin and Joshua as they grow older will too be taught the same values the man in my life taught me...Their Papa. Life is what you make, so in Daddy's words "You better make it damn good". Monica
